Owing to his long-term experience in the Ministry of Justice, Indrek is well positioned in all matters concerning the legislative process in Estonia. He has been involved in many negotiations with stakeholders, in heated debates in various committees of Riigikogu, and has clarified the functioning of the current law in the press. Before discovering the fascinating world of law, Indrek studied forestry at the Estonian University of Life Sciences and worked for a short time as a junior researcher at the same university and after that in a logging company in Põlva.

For more than a decade, Indrek has been active in academic activities, helping to conduct studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu. During the years worked at the Ministry of Justice, Indrek has had a chance to perform at many conferences, seminars and discussions to introduce legal policy choices made in Estonian private law and to clarify new draft laws prepared by the Ministry of Justice.

Together with attorney-at-law Paul Varul and State Judge Saale Laos Indrek was awarded in 2018 with the prize “Defender of the Right” for his current activities in the development of Estonian law.
