NOVE’s attorney-at-law Veikko Puolakainen, together with his team including attorney-at-law Triin Tiru and attorney Laura Raadik, successfully represented Coop Põlva Tarbijate Ühistu in a fundamental commercial law dispute in Tartu County Court. The dispute was related to the termination of the status of a member of the commercial association. The dispute was caused by the decision of the management board to exclude members of the commercial association who did not fulfill their statutory obligations from the commercial association. According to the court decision of the Tartu County Court, the decision to exclude the member of the commercial association was legitimate. The dispute was complicated by the fact that it was necessary to ascertain the matters related to the competence of the management board of the commercial association, as well as the general principles of the commercial association’s activities. In addition, the dispute also covered the question of the structure of companies operating under the COOP brand in Estonia as a whole.
