On the occasion of the Estonian Jurists’ Days 2022, the Minister of Justice awarded a letter of appreciation to NOVE’s attorneys and legal experts for their contribution to the review of corporate law and insolvency law, which sought to thoroughly analyse and clarify relevant legislation.
Arsi Pavelts, Heili Püümann, Indrek Niklus, Laura Raadik and Katrin Kalda all received a letter of appreciation for their contribution to the working group on the review of corporate law. The purpose of the review was to clarify corporate law and bring it up to date (in particular the Commercial Code) to make the legal order more transparent and straightforward for those applying the law. As part of the review, corporate law was subjected to full systemic analysis and proposals were made to supplement and update legislation. Work efforts resulted in a nearly 1,000-page analysis-concept based not only on Estonian law, but also on a large collection of legislation and legal literature from reference countries. This paper also includes about 50 pages of fundamental proposals for the further development of Estonian corporate law.
Veiko Vaske and Indrek Niklus received a letter of appreciation for their contribution to the working group on the review of insolvency law. The purpose of the review was to thoroughly analyse the compatibility of insolvency law with the needs of both legal and natural persons, to pinpoint problematic areas in this field, and to develop, on a demand basis, proposals for solving these problems and simplifying insolvency proceedings.
